Semiotic Parsing Language™ (SPL) forms the core engine of the Glassbeam solution. SPL is, quite simply, the language of data warehousing, much like SQL is the language of the database world. It is a language that allows our expert SPL programmers to describe the structure, meaning and relationships between elements in your operational data.
Once coded, the SPL Interpreter is able to process incoming data in real-time to create the tables, schema and database to create a function-specific data warehouse, called an Clearhive™, in real-time. The Clearhive™ can be created to meet the needs of different functional areas in your organization.
Clearhive™
The Clearhive™ is the data warehouse that is populated by the SPL Engine. Your operational data is the input and the Clearhive™ is the output. The Hive contains all details of your system extracted from your operational data, as well as the linkages between the different elements. It also links statistics to system objects. The Glassbeam solution creates indexes and tables that allow fast access to the information through the Glassbeam portals, or to any query tool layered on top of the Clearhive™.
